HP Ponsel Blackberry Tercanggih

Blackberry adalah salah satu pemain utama dalam industri smartphone global. Meski namanya sudah tergeser dengan platform Android, namun BB masih menjadi salah satu brand smartphone paling berpengaruh hingga sekarang. Berbeda dengan sejumlah brand smartphone non-Android yang lain, pabrikan smartphone yang berbasis di Kanada ini masih bisa bertahan melawan gempuran platform Android.


Sempat menjadi primadona bagi pengguna smartphone di Indonesia, nama Blackberry tidak menghilang begitu saja. Meskipun smartphone Android terus bermunculan dari berbagai vendor papan atas, namun Blackberry masih memiliki pasar di Tanah Air. Smartphone, sejatinya memiliki banyak jenis tergantung dari sistem operasi yang dipakainya. Beberapa diantaranya yang populer adalah Windows Phone, Android, Blackberry, dan juga iOS. Namun, kali ini saya akan membahas kelebihan dan kekurangan Android vs Blackberry. Oke, daripada penasaran, mending simak saja artikel yang satu ini.
Kelebihan Android
– Android memiliki dukungan dari Google secara penuh sebagai pengembang android. Oleh karena itu, Android memiliki dukungan aplikasi yang sangat banyak. Selain itu juga, kebanyakan dari aplikasi tersebut dapat didownload dan install gratis di smartphone android anda. Selain aplikasi, terdapat juga game gratis untuk diinstall pada ponsel anda.
– Android memiliki keunggulan saat membuka aplikasi. Karena ponsel Android dapat membuka aplikasi secara multitasking. Sehingga anda bisa membuka aplikasi lain secara bersamaan.
– Ponsel Android memiliki fitur real time notifications. Sehingga, jika ada SMS, email, atau notifikasi lain, akan muncul pada home screen ponsel android anda.
– Harga yang dibanderol kebanyakan vendor ponsel android, membanderol ponsel ini dengan harga yang terjangkau dan juga murah. Sehingga, anda bisa membelinya dengan pilihan anda.
Kekurangan Android
– Ponsel android biasanya memiliki banyak aplikasi yang mengharuskan penggunanya terhubung ke internet secara terus menerus. Sehingga, mau tidak mau anda harus menyalan internet anda setiap hari. Hal tersebut mengakibatkan semakin membengkaknya biaya pengeluaran anda untuk smartphone.
– Selain harus selalu terkoneksi, biasanya anda juga akan melihat iklan-iklan yang terpampang di depan, belakang, bawah, atau atas aplikasi tersebut. Kadang hal tersebut membuat pengguna merasa terganggu.
Kelebihan Blackberry
– BBM (Blackberry Messenger) adalah aplikasi wajib Blackberry yang disematkan Blackberryuntuk kemudahan penggunanya dalam hal berkomunikasi. Aplikasi inilah yang menjadi kelebihan dari Blackberry
itu sendiri.
– Push Email juga merupakan keunggulan dari Blackberry ini. Kita bisa mengakses akun email kita dengan mudah dan juga cepat.
Kekurangan Blackberry
– Untuk bisa menggunakan aplikasi BBM ini, anda harus berlangganan BIS. Jadi, selain anda mengeluarkan biaya untuk berkomunikasi telpon dan juga sms, anda juga harus membayar langganan BIS ini.
 – Harga dari Blackberry ini sendiri, memiliki harga yang masih mahal bagi warga Indonesia. Mungkin hanya beberapa orang saja yang bisa menikmati Blackberry ini.

Kelebihan Blackberry dibanding Android atau HP lainnya

Blackberry bukan sekedar handphone yang bisa Telp dan SMS. Kelebihan utama blackberry adalah DATA YANG REALTIME, dan data yang saya maksud tsb adalah email, chat, update status jejaring sosial. Tapi bukan berarti gagdet diluar blackberry seperti android, iphone dll tidak bisa realtime. Untuk membahas kelebihan blackberry lebih dalam, saya akan coba sedikit jelaskan mengenai BIS atau Blackberry Internet Service yang sering digunakan oleh pengguna Blackberry di Indonesia.

Apa itu BIS (Blackberry Internet Service)
BIS adalah suatu bentuk server data yang dimiliki oleh RIM (Research In Motion). Server data tersebut adalah pusat singkronisasi data sebelum data tersebut sampai ke pengguna blackberry. Sehingga data seperti push email, chat dan update status yang ada di blackberry anda adalah hasil singkronisasi BIS dengan internet seperti server yahoo, gmail, facebook dll. Gambaran mudahnya bisa dilihat berikut :
Blackberry anda <—> Operator GSM/CDMA <—> BIS <—> Internet
Jadi blackberry anda akan melewati operator seluler dan BIS sebelum mendapatkan data dari internet. Dengan alur data tersebut, maka BIS juga bisa disebut sebagai Proxy Server. Semua data internet (seperti email/chat/update status) yang “diserap” oleh BIS akan SELALU disingkronisasi sebelum diberikan ke pengguna Blackberry. Data tersebut juga sudah dikompres untuk meminimalisasi ukuran data agar transfer data menjadi lebih cepat, dan karena itulah layanan BIS berasa REALTIME. Kompresi data yang dihasilkan BIS tsb juga memberikan efek hemat batere yang banyak diungkapkan oleh para pengguna blackberry.
Bagaimana dengan koneksi internet diluar Blackberry seperti iPhone, Android dll ??? Gambaran koneksi internet yang dipakai gadget mobile diluar blackberry seperti berikut :
Gadget Mobile <—> Operator GSM/CDMA <—> Internet
Tidak adanya server (proxy) yang melakukan singkronisasi dan kompresi menjadikan gadget diluar blackberry berasa kurang realtime JIKA perbandingannya menggunakan kecepatan akses dan bandwidth internet yg sama. Dari situlah kenapa koneksi internet blackberry lebih mahal daripada koneksi internet yg dipakai oleh gadget diluar blackberry karena sebenarnya pengguna Blackberry membayar dua hal yaitu koneksi operator seluler dan BIS nya.
RUGI menggunakan Blackberry
Kalo orang kaya sih gk ada ruginya hehe. Sangat RUGI jika blackberry hanya digunakan untuk sekedar cek/update status GEJE dan chatting seperti yang dilakukan para ALAY dan ABABIL. Blackberry sangat menguntungkan jika dapat memanfaatkan fitur REALTIME nya untuk pekerjaan atau berbisnis seperti bisnis online dengan kenyamanan Keyboard Qwerty-ScrollPad dan kemudahan copy-paste teks antar aplikasinya. Komunikasi email dan chat blackberry yg REALTIME sangat bermanfaat untuk menjaga eksistensi bisnis dan memperluas relasi bisnis, terutama “dukungan” komunitas BBM yang sangat besar di Indonesia.
Apakah tidak ada pesaing teknologi BIS ?
Teknologi BIS bukan yg pertama dimiliki RIM. Didunia ini perusahaan IT yang besar adalah perusahaan yang menjual teknologi yang fokus. RIM menjual teknologi yang fokus terhadap singkronisasi data internet, Google “menjual” search engine, Oracle menjual database, Apple menjual multimedia, Microsoft menjual user-friendly interface, Samsung menjual teknologi layar LCD-LED, NetApp menjual teknologi NAS, Intel menjual processor dan masih banyak lainnya. Walau sebenarnya RIM “menjiplak” teknologi SyncML untuk singkronisasi data nya, tapi RIM benar2x sangat fokus dalam mengelola dan memasarkan teknologi tsb dengan dukungan infrastruktur BIS dan gadget blackberry nya.
Sudah tau kan kelebihan blackberry ? jangan sampai anda memberi jawaban memalukan seperti kelebihan blackberry adalah lebih hemat baterai untuk ber-internet. Borosnya baterai yang dialami gadget multimedia seperti android, iphone dll adalah karena fitur dan spesifikasi multimedia yg tinggi daripada blackberry.

John Chen is Executive Chairman of BlackBerry’s Board of Directors and Chief Executive Officer.
John is a distinguished and proven leader in the technology industry. Prior to joining BlackBerry, he served as Chairman and CEO of Sybase Inc., where he developed and led the company’s re-invention from a mature, slower-growth technology company into a $1.5 billion-plus high-growth innovator. Under his direction, Sybase became the leading provider of enterprise mobility and mobile commerce solutions, achieving 55 consecutive quarters of profitability.
John previously held a series of executive positions at Siemens AG, Pyramid Technology Corp., and Burroughs Corp. He started his career as a design engineer with Unisys Corp.
He has testified before Congress on U.S.–China trade relations. In 2005, U.S. President George W. Bush appointed him to serve on the President's Export Council. In 2006, he was appointed co-chair of the Secure Borders and Open Doors Advisory Committee. Additionally, John chaired the U.S.-China Policy Advisory Roundtable for the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS). John is actively involved in international relations. He was Chairman of the Committee of 100 from 2009-2011, and has continued to be a member since 1997, with the dedicated mission of furthering U.S.-China relations.
In recognition of his leadership in building U.S.-Asia relations, John has received awards from the US-Asia Institute, the U.S.-China Policy Foundation, and the California-Asia Business Council. For his corporate board work, he has been honored by the U.S.-Pan Asian American Chamber of Commerce Education Foundation.
John graduated from Brown University magna cum laude with a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and holds a master's in electrical engineering from California Institute of Technology. John has an honorary professorship from Shanghai University, and honorary doctorates from San Jose State University, City University of Hong Kong, and Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.
John serves on the board of directors for The Walt Disney Company and Wells Fargo & Co. Marty is responsible for leading cross-functional operations, including Marketing, Pricing, Application Partnering, Manufacturing & Supply, Customer Care and Quality. He is also responsible for instituting best practices and processes across the organization to ensure operational excellence.
Marty previously served as Chairman and CEO of LiveOps, Inc., a leading provider of cloud applications for customer service. Dr. Sandeep Chennakeshu
Dr. Sandeep Chennakeshu is the President of BlackBerry Technology Solutions (BTS). In this role, he manages and drives the strategic direction of BlackBerry’s innovative technology assets, including QNX Software Systems (embedded software), Certicom (cryptography applications) and Paratek (RF antenna tuning). Sandeep also manages the company’s extensive patent portfolio and Internet of Things strategy.
Over the past 25 years, Sandeep has been engaged in research, product development, IP creation/licensing and general management in the wireless, electronics and semiconductor industry.
Prior to joining BlackBerry, Sandeep was the President of PMP LLC & RSI Consulting LLC, offering restructuring, strategic growth and innovation consultation to multinational clients. He has previously served as Senior Advisor at Sony Corporation of America, Chief Development Officer of Freescale Semiconductor and General Manager of Freescale’s Wireless Business group, respectively. Sandeep was also President of Ericsson Mobile Platforms and Chief Technology Officer of Sony-Ericsson and Ericsson Mobile Phones. Sandeep started his career in research and development at General Electric (GE).
Sandeep holds a Ph.D. in electrical engineering from Southern Methodist University and a Post Graduate Diploma in Industrial Management from the Indian Institute of Science. He is an Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Fellow and is a named inventor on 73 patents.

Billy Ho
Billy leads the Enterprise Product Management and Software organizations.
Prior to joining BlackBerry, Billy served as Senior Vice President of Product & Technology Operations at Sybase, Inc where he was responsible for Sybase technology research, product development and customer support. He held many other leadership positions within Sybase, including General Manager of the OEM Business Unit, Senior Vice President and General Manager of the e-Business Division, and Vice President of the Product Development, Enterprise Solutions Division. He has also been a Director of Engineering at Unisys and Siemens.
Billy earned a MS in Computer Science from California Institute of Technology in Pasadena, California and a BS in Electrical Engineering from McGill University in Montreal, Canada.

Ralph Pini

Chief Operating Officer and General Manager, Devices
Ralph Pini is the Chief Operating Officer and General Manager, Devices. In this role his is responsible for BlackBerry’s long-term product roadmap, including hardware, software and design, as well as BlackBerry’s joint development efforts. Heoversees the manufacturing/supply chain, repair, customersupport and device quality functions under the Devices business unit.
Ralph joined BlackBerry in 2012 as part of the acquisition of Paratek Microwave Inc., where he served as President and CEO developing and commercializing Adaptive Tunable technologies to improve RF performance of wireless devices.
Prior to this, Ralph served nearly thirty years at Motorola Inc., where he held various positions, including Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer, Mobile Cellular Group. Ralph has a deep and extensive history in the wireless mobile industry and was very instrumental in the development and creation of the many iconic products at Motorola, including the Motorola RAZR. Also while at Motorola, Ralph ran the EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) operations, making this business unit a significant contributor to the financial success of the Motorola Mobile group.  
Ralph received his MBA from Lake Forest Graduate School of Management, and both his MS in Electrical Engineering and his BS in Electrical and Computer Science from the University of Illinois, Chicago.

James Mackey

Jim’s team sets the overall corporate strategy for BlackBerry and executes towards that vision by working collaboratively across the organization and through mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and partnerships.
Prior to joining BlackBerry, Jim served as Senior Vice President of Corporate Development at Open Text Corporation. Previous to Open Text, Jim was Head of Corporate Development at SAP, where he developed and led the company’s global merger and acquisitions group.  
Jim has a law degree, with a concentration on business law and mergers and acquisitions, and a B.S.A in Accounting, both from Villanova University.


Carl J. Wiese
President, Global Sales
Carl J. Wiese
Carl Wiese is President, Global Sales, responsible for driving BlackBerry’s go-to-market strategy and advancing the company’s global sales efforts to drive growth.
Prior to BlackBerry, Carl spent more than a decade at Cisco in a variety of leadership roles, most recently as Senior Vice President leading the company’s global collaboration business, directing sales and go-to-market strategy. He also served as Vice President of U.S. & Canada Advanced Technologies, focused on driving sales and deployment processes for new and emerging technologies that represented some of the company’s highest potential growth segments.
Carl has over 25 years’ experience in sales, marketing, services, and product management for high-technology companies. Previously, Carl held executive positions at Apple, Avaya, Lucent and Texas Instruments.
Carl holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Oklahoma State University.

Nita White-Ivy

Nita is responsible for leading the HR team to design and deliver global programs, initiatives, partnerships, solutions and services in all facets of HR to support the achievement of the company’s operational goals and strategic objectives.
Before joining BlackBerry, Nita served as Chief People Officer and Chief Human Resources Officer for SAP Cloud and SuccessFactors. Prior to that, she was Vice President of Worldwide Human Resources for Sybase, Inc. where she was responsible for providing and implementing high quality, state-of-the-art human resource and security services and programs for Sybase employees, management, executives and campuses worldwide.
Nita has an MBA from Santa Clara University, Santa Clara, California and has also completed several courses towards an MA in Counseling Psychology from the same institution. She earned her BS in Business Administration with finance and accounting major with honors.

Mark Wilson

Mark Wilson
As Chief Evangelist, Mark Wilson is responsible for delivering the BlackBerry message through thought leadership and other opportunities that promote the brand. He leads advocacy and outreach to the audiences around the world that BlackBerry touches with its portfolio of products and services. Mark also oversees the Company’s market planning and research team, driving key analysis and insights that reinforce BlackBerry’s global leadership as a mobile communications company.
Before joining BlackBerry, he was chief marketing officer for Avaya, senior vice president of marketing for Sybase, an SAP Company, leader of the strategy practice at KPMG Consulting’s Information, Communication and Entertainment Group, and a marketing manager for AT&T.  Mark was named by BtoB Magazine as one of the Best Marketers from 2009-2011 and 2013. He was also named to the 2013 FierceCMO list of CMOs to watch. Mark holds an MBA and an MA in public policy from The University of Chicago. He received his BA from University of California at Santa Barbara.

James is responsible for all aspects of the Company’s financial operations and investor relations.
James previously served as the Senior Vice President, Controller of BlackBerry. He was responsible for the Company’s consolidated and legal entity accounting, the external reporting function, insurance programs, as well as a number of aspects of management reporting and results analysis, and the consolidation of forecasts and plans.  James has more than 15 years of experience in the technology and telecommunications industries.  Prior to joining BlackBerry in 2008, he held various senior positions at Cognos Incorporated and Deloitte.
James holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree, Honours Accounting from the University of Ottawa.

Steven E. Zipperstein

Steve is responsible for worldwide legal, government relations, public policy, compliance, regulatory, corporate security and corporate real estate for BlackBerry Ltd. Steve also serves as the company’s Chief Risk Officer and oversees the company’s internal audit function.
Steve previously served as General Counsel for Verizon Wireless from 2003 through 2011. Prior to the formation of Verizon Communications Inc., Steve served as Deputy General Counsel for GTE Corporation with corporate-wide responsibility for state regulatory, litigation and compliance matters. Before joining GTE/Verizon, Steve served for more than 9 years as a federal prosecutor in the United States Attorney’s office in Los Angeles. Steve tried more than a dozen federal felony jury trials (including the first-ever prosecution against the owners of a failed savings and loan during the late 1980s) and he argued more than two dozen cases in the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals. Steve also served as Counselor to Attorney General Janet Reno during the 1995 congressional hearings regarding the events at the Branch Davidian compound in Waco, Texas.
Steve is a graduate of UCLA with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and of U.C. Davis Law School with a juris doctorate, where he also served as a Law Review Editor and a Member of the Moot Court Board. Steve has taught at Loyola Law School and published several law review articles. He has testified before Congress on telecommunications policy issues numerous times.

Guy Miasnik is President, AtHoc Division for BlackBerry. As the co-founder and CEO of AtHoc, Guy was instrumental in transforming AtHoc from a Greylock funded Silicon Valley startup to the number one provider of networked crisis communication solutions serving the vast majority of the US Homeland Security and Defense community. Today, AtHoc’s innovative software helps safeguard millions of people in thousands of organizations worldwide in commercial, healthcare and government enterprises.
Prior to AtHoc, Guy co-founded and served as CEO at Kinetica Ltd. where he drove the firm's growth from a zero-capital start-up to profitability in less than two years. It was later acquired by NetVision.
Guy earned his MBA at Harvard Business School and B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering (summa cum laude) from the Technion. He holds five patents in crisis communication. Guy is an active member of the Pacific Council on International Policy and has been serving on the boards of several educational nonprofit organizations. Guy lives in the San Francisco Bay Area with his wife and three children.
